Based in Jet Park, the purpose of this position is to aggressively drive turnover, gain market share, maximize SPAR profits through careful planning and purchasing of the correct stock, on time and in line with the Retailer requirements.
Key Performance Areas:
- Management of promotions planning
- Achievement of sales and gross profit targets
- Ensuring product pricing competitiveness against competitors and budgeted retail margins to members
- Delivering on the defined service levels to Retailers
- Development of internal controls to manage and report on all Buyer key performance areas
- Driving product development
- Overseeing Warehouse stock levels
- Management of the performance of suppliers from a pricing, product and service level aspect
- Control department administration and expenses
- Assisting in providing leadership to the Marketing team
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years management and buying experience in an FMCG environment
- Business related tertiary qualification advantageous
- Ability to plan and organize
- Team player
- Ability to develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with Retailers and other relevant stakeholders
- Computer literacy
- High degree of numeric and financial acumen
